Ka’ala Healing Arts began in the fall of 2002, arising from the need for husband and wife team Jeff M. Ramos, LMT and Jennifer Piltz, LMT to find office space on the North Shore after their massage therapy clinic was closed in September. Having practiced therapeutic massage and Zen shiatsu in Haleiwa since 1996, Jeff and Jennifer had developed a base of clients who missed their healing touch. The center was also created in response to the need for professional office space in the area specific to the healing arts professional.
Built in 1923, the 3000 square foot, two-story building features seven separate rooms, ranging in size from 180 to 780 square feet, and a lobby shared by the five second floor offices. There is also a community bulletin board on the second floor for posting health-related materials. A giant monkey pod tree shades the building from the afternoon sun and a beautiful lanai in the back overlooks the Kaukonahua stream.
Jeff and Jennifer believe that optimum health can best be achieved with a program that includes alternative healing therapies. By providing a source for such therapies which is safe, comfortable, and conveniently located to the public, they achieve their goal for the North Shore community.
